[About half an hour later, there's a polite knock at the dorm room door. Mando has made some stops on his way over, and arrived laden down with bags of snacks, fresh coffee, and two pizzas.]
[The first thing Mando will notice is that Riz has posted up his Kecleon above the door of Boober and Gobo's dorm room. Though previously invisible, when Puk sees Mando approach, he does blink into view. It's okay. Mando can be trusted.
Riz is quick to open the door for Mando though he doesn't wait there, immediately returning to the chair he has set up next to Boober's bedside. Both Gobo and Boober are asleep, each rolled onto their side. They probably don't exactly need the recovery position, but Riz needs concrete things he can do. Anything, really.]
[When Mando spots Puk, he fishes a berry out of his pocket and offers it up to him. Good Pokemon, standing guard.]
That's what I thought.
[Mando lets himself in, closing the door gently behind him and locking it. He doesn't think anyone will bother them, but it might make Riz feel better to know they're protected. Then he pulls up one of the dorm room chairs and settles in next to Riz, offering him a takeaway cup of coffee that's still steaming.]
It's like when this happened to you. They'll probably wake up and have all sorts of things to tell you about what they did back home.
[Of course Riz accepts the slice of pizza and scarfs it down within a few seconds, but it lacks a certain je ne sais quoi. Like he is eating more mechanically than with pleasure.]
[Which had been a little overwhelming considering what Riz had just gone through. Not that he hadn't understood why Boober and Mando had been happy to see him again, it just had been a lot.]
No, we're going to split up. You're going to make coffee, I'm going to do dishes and chop whatever Boober tells me to chop. That way, we're helping but not getting in the way.
[It has caffeine! Just not as much as the high octane sludge Riz likes. Mando has had a few cups with Boober, and he likes it. It's better in the afternoons, when he doesn't want to bomb himself with caffeine.]
You can boil some water for him, then. Dual-wield drink making.

[But who has you, Riz?]

Neither of them will wake up. Trust me, I tried.

I know, but who knows how long they'll be out for. Boober really wanted to go to that cook-out.

[Mando opens the pizza box and offers it to Riz.]
It'll be a shame if he misses it, but there'll be other cookouts. We could throw one at the house when he wakes up.

A week is so long.

He was so happy when you woke up. We all were.

[It's a much better idea for Mando to just keep the ingredients around and then wash dishes while Boober cooks. Everyone will end up happier.]

[That stuff sucks! It doesn't even have caffeine!!! What is it good for.]

[Probably only to Boober.]

[Criminals, the both of them. A two-person hive of scum and villainy.]

[Riz absolutely doesn't get it. What, does it infuse the water with death rays or something? That'd actually be kinda cool.]

[A glance at Boober's sleeping form.]
We're going to have to ask him to explain this when he wakes up.
